Glacier Transit and Storage of Plymouth Wisconsin selected supply chain software Datex FootPrint WMS for their warehouse management solution. With 11 warehouse facilities in Wisconsin increasing to 12 by the end of June, Glacier Transit and Storage (GTS) needed a warehouse management system that provided detailed reporting by customer and product. The robust reporting capabilities of the Datex warehouse management system were an ideal fit.
As part of a focus on efficiency, GTS also identified a need to reduce processing time of paperwork related to shipping. To resolve this, they plan to implement a signature capture device in order to have digital approval of documents for their records before printing a single copy for the driver. Glacier Transit and Storage also noted that the ability to perform both simple and advanced owner transfers, outbound weight parsing and recording of pallet transactions will be advantageous for their operations.
Datex FootPrint ® WMS includes special features and functionality for cold storage and third party logistics (3PL). The Datex warehouse management system was developed using state-of-the-art Microsoft technology. Datex FootPrint ® WMS includes temperature capture, the ability to restrict inventory to specific temperature zones; catch weight; track and trace inventory by Lot, vat code, SKU, UPC or ingredient; 3PL billing including the ability to charge accessorial fees from either a handheld or desktop computer and other features essential for cold storage warehouse operations.
